Meet Rachel

Welcome!

I'm Rachel - pastor's wife and mommy to 4 and I'm thrilled you're here! I may have never met you, but I'm sure we're a lot alike. We desire to do our best at this motherhood thing, but feel like we are constantly coming up short. We want to train our children to know and love God, but somehow struggle to figure out how to weave that into the everyday chores of life.

I believe that theology is one of of the most practical things we can study and practice as busy moms and I want to invite you along as we discover together how beautifully the study of God can be knit into raising our kids.

Still want to know more?

I love reading, chocolate, and taking long walks around the neighborhood while listening to some of my favorite podcasts.

I've been blogging since 2009 when I started my first site, A Steady Rain to document God's blessings in the everyday.

After my second son was born, I took an unplanned hiatus from blogging. My writing had become stale and I was overwhelmed with being a mommy to two! It was during that time that God opened my eyes to the beautiful truths of the gospel that continue to apply to my life even this many years into my walk with Him.

I've also developed a desire to see women (namely busy moms) realize the necessity of Bible literacy (one of my favorite terms coined by Jen Wilkin) in their lives. Tackling harder passages and theological concepts isn't just for the pastors and seminary professors. Grasping more and more how the good news of the gospel affects us today is one of the most practical things we can do for our marriages and families.

I definitely don't claim to have all the answers, but I want to learn.

I hope you'll join me on this journey to where motherhood and theology collide!
