Adam and I are in the process of reading through the Bible in 2010. Both of us have read through the Bible completely before, but it amazes me that new things jump out every time you read it. Yesterday, we read Exodus 2-4. Chapter 4 tells the story of Moses' argument with the Lord, and his feelings of inadequacy about leading the people of Israel. He argues that he could never speak in front of all those people and the Lord gives him this answer in verse 11, "So the Lord said to him, Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?" Not only does God know every area of our lives (even the most embarrassing ones), he created us with those inadequacies as part of his plan for our lives. Why would He do that? The simple answer is so He can be glorified in our weaknesses! He wants to speak through us to show others the greatness of his power! How are you allowing God to work through your weaknesses today?
