A few days ago, my hubby decided to play a trick on him. As soon as we got close to our driveway, he purposely drove past our house. There was a sudden urgency and worry in our little guy's voice as he said, "DADDY!!!" How could his dad have made such an obvious mistake? In his little mind, he couldn't figure out why his dad had changed the routine that we follow every day!
I couldn't help but see a clear spiritual parallel to the way we relate to our Heavenly Father. We like our routines in life, and we don't like change. We know that our God is omnipotent and omniscient, but we still cry out in fear when something doesn't follow OUR plan!! We forget that he is purposely working together the events of our lives for His glory and our good!
Consider this familiar verse today:
Proverbs 3:5, 6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight."
