I wouldn't define myself as a morning person. I don't mind getting up early, but I don't love it either! There is one thing that I do love when I happen to get out of bed a little early - the quiet. That morning quiet is precious, especially with a busy toddler living in our house. As I was tiptoeing down the stairs this morning (in an effort to keep the quietness in tact), I thought of the verse in Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" God desires for us to enjoy the peace of resting in His care. In a world of business and noise, he wants us to simply stop and enjoy Him! That may be in the early morning quiet of our living room with a cup of coffee and our Bible in hand, or it may be in our hearts as we pause to think of our omnipotent God on the way to complete an errand. I want to take time each day to rest in Him, and be still.
