Have you ever played "phone tag" with someone? The first person calls and doesn't reach you, so they leave a message. You get the message later and try to call them back, however they aren't available at that time. So you leave a message for them saying that you got their message and to call you back when they get a chance. The "game" continues until one of the parties is finally successful in reaching the other. Unfortunately this "game" isn't really all that fun. In fact, it can get quite irritating at times!
The same feeling can happen with e-mails. Have you ever sent an e-mail and then waited and waited for a response? You wonder if the other person even received it. Should you try another e-mail just in case? Are they just busy, and haven't had time to respond yet?
There is only one form of communication that doesn't have those kind of problems. Prayer! We never have to leave a message for God. He is always there to listen. We never have to wait for the perfect time to talk to Him. He is always available. We don't have to wait for days for a response. We have His Word readily available to us.
If you are having "communication problems" today, remember the awesome words in Jeremiah 33:3:
"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."
